Fatboy gigs

as some of you know, our Norm gave us some free tickets for the Big Beach Boutique 4 on Saturday 27th September 2008 on Madeira Drive in compensation for the disruption -- one post-mortem takes place on 27 November 2008 Licensing Committee item 20 : Big Beach Boutique 4 Review -- see also the Argus today Nov 24th page 16 --

We are denied the right to object to any such licence, as we are neither close residents or businesses, despite the obvious disruption caused. Neither the local MP or cllrs seem interested enought to do anything about this gagging. This is a denial of justice, and a matter of principle viz: "taxation without representation is tyranny" ........
Guidance issued under section 182 of the Licensing Act 2003 states
8.6 It is expected that “a person involved in business” will be given its widest possible interpretation, including partnerships, and need not be confined to those engaged in trade and commerce.
9.12 The Secretary of State recommends that in borderline cases, the benefit of the doubt should be given to the interested party making the representation

In the event, the chalets were not trashed or urinated on and the inconvenience was not getting access to the huts on the day.
